About Recipe 🍪

Recipe 🍪 is a personal-cookbook app that turns the recipes you find anywhere — Instagram, TikTok, food blogs, cookbooks, family group chats — into a single searchable, scalable, shareable collection. It handles imports from URLs, photos, and short-form video, builds smart grocery lists, and connects you directly to the stores where you actually shop.

What it does

  Import from anywhere. Paste a URL, drop in a photo, or share a TikTok / Reels link. We extract the ingredients, steps, and timing automatically.

  Cook from your phone. Kitchen-mode resizes recipes to your serving count, runs multiple timers in parallel, and keeps the screen awake while you cook.
• 🛒
  Shop with one tap. Build grocery lists across multiple recipes, then jump to the store you prefer — Instacart, Amazon Fresh, Walmart, Target, or Whole Foods.
• 📅
  Plan your week. Drag recipes onto a meal-plan grid, then auto-generate a consolidated grocery list for everything you need.
• 🔗
  Share what you cook. Generate a public link with a QR code, a branded share-card image, and a clean printable view — perfect for family group chats.
• 👥
  Discover and follow. Public profiles, follow graph, and an Explore feed for finding what other people are cooking.
• 🔔
  Stay in the loop. Web Push notifications when someone comments on your recipe, follows you, or shares something back.

Who built it

Recipe 🍪 is built and operated by themcq.ai, a single-person software studio run by Bruce McQuillen. The product is part of a broader agent-staffed company experiment — most of the work is done by a small team of AI agents coordinated by an in-house assistant (Apex). Bruce reviews every line of code before it ships.
