Recipe 🍪 is a personal-cookbook and meal-planning app. It lets you import recipes from URLs, photos, and short-form video, organize them into collections, build grocery lists, plan meals, and share recipes with others. It is provided as a hosted, web-based application; no software is downloaded to your device beyond a service worker for optional push notifications.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
To use most features of the Service you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for any activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that are used to abuse the Service or other users, or that remain inactive for an extended period.
You retain ownership of the recipes, photos, comments, and other content you upload to the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting and display), publish, and display Your Content as necessary to operate the Service — for example, generating share-cards, indexing public recipes for the Explore feed, and showing thumbnails in search results.
You may mark recipes as private (visible only to you) or public (visible to anyone with the link, including via search-engine indexing). It is your responsibility to choose the appropriate visibility for each recipe.
You represent that you have all rights necessary to upload Your Content and that Your Content does not infringe any third party's rights or violate any law.

Recipe 🍪 uses third-party AI services (Anthropic / OpenAI) to extract recipe content from URLs, photos, and short-form video you submit. AI-extracted content is provided as-is. We do our best to extract accurately, but AI systems can and do make mistakes — ingredient quantities may be wrong, instructions may be incomplete or out of order, and you should always review the result before cooking, especially for allergens.
Similarly, nutritional information shown in the app is estimated by an AI from your ingredient list and is not a substitute for the information on packaged food labels or professional dietary advice.
When you click a "Shop on X" button (Instacart, Amazon Fresh, Walmart, Target, Whole Foods), we open a deep link to that store's search-results page in a new tab. We are not responsible for the content, pricing, availability, or policies of those third-party stores. Any purchase you make is governed by the terms of that store, not by these Terms.
The Service and its content, features, and functionality (excluding Your Content) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended personal or professional cooking-related purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works of the Service without our prior written permission.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Recipe content, AI extractions, and nutritional estimates are provided for informational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional dietary, medical, or food-safety advice. Always review recipes before cooking and use your judgment.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim. (The Service is currently provided free of charge; in that case, our total liability will not exceed $100.)
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
You may terminate your account at any time via Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination will survive (including ownership, disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability).
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Summit County, Ohio.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are material, we will notify you in-app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
